Read/One Dark Window

Elspeth Spindle is a young woman living with her uncle and auth.

Living carefully, she has a secret to hide : she is infected. In a word where the only magic allowed is the providence cards, her infection would mean her death if it was discovered.

She will embark in a journey to steal providences cards and lift the mist around the country, the mist created by the spirit of the wood and responsible for the infection, and cure herself.

She has a darker secret to hide even deeper : she absorbed the nightmare card when she was young, and it's slowly taking control of her. Will she succeed before falling into full control of the nightmare ? And what secret the latter hide ?

I got embarked in the story and couldn't let the book off. The start was a little bit slow but after that passed, the story really begin and we get through a series of cliffhanger, tension, book of the alders reference, secret revealed and more. The end was as jaw dropping as the rest of the book and i couldn't wait to start the second book.
